Coles County Memorial Airport Receives Award
Coles County Memorial Airport was nominated by Civil Air Patrol’s Colonel Rickey L. Oeth, for the 2023 Frank G. Brewer Memorial Aerospace Award in the Organization Category.
The award is one of the highest awards given by CAP to individuals and organizations within and outside of CAP, who have made exceptional contributions to the advancement of youth through aerospace activities.
Nominations are made by CAP members across the country. The Airport was the winning submission from six Great Lake Region submissions and then went on to be selected as the National Winner. Manager Andrew Fearn accepted the award on behalf of the Airport at the National Civil Air Patrol Conference in Bellevue, Washington.

⭐Coles County Airport Director Receives Award⭐
The Annual Illinois Public Airport Association (IPAA) awarded Coles County Memorial Airport Director Andrew Fearn, the 2022 Honorable Roger C. Marquardt "Excellence in Aviation Leadership" award. This award is given annually to an Aviation Industry Professional who strives to present the local airport as a true public facility, not only for aviation, but the community as a whole. The annual Coles County fireworks presentation and the recent 2022 Air Show are just two examples of events that bring families to this state of the art facility.
Fearn received the award at the Annual IPAA conference at Galena Illinois on September 26, 2022.
Andrew has been with the Coles County Memorial Airport for 22 years as of September 11, 2022.
